📺Logging into your VPS using VNC

Easily logging into your VPS using VNC.

Logging into your VPS using VNC is really simple, and shouldn't be confusing at all. You'll be using VNC to login to your machine if you have a desktop-UI (for example, Windows), but VNC may be used for other purposes as well.

There are 2 easy ways to login to your machine.

Using the web

Yup, you can interact with your VPS on the web.

Go on your VPS, go to Settings > VNC, and pick the blue button 'Launch HTML 5 VNC Client'.

A popup window will appear, and you'll be able to interact with your VPS from there.

Of course, actions on a web client may feel restricted which is why we personally prefer the other method.

If you get displayed with a lock screen and need to login, your password is your VPS password. If you can't find this password, it can be reset on the VPS dashboard - Settings > Change Password.

Using VNC Viewer

There's a client available called VNC Viewer, which we highly recommend to access your VPS. It's free, and totally easy to use. There's no popup ads or suchlike. We've added a link below to download it. It supports Linux, Windows, macOS, and many more.

You might prefer another client, and we're not stopping you - this is just one we recommend.

After downloading it, open it up, and in this top bar (screenshot below), put in VNCIP:VNCPORT from the info you got in Settings > VNC on your VPS dashboard.

You'll then be asked to enter a password.

This password should have been supplied with your VPS when you first received it. If you can't find that info for whatever reason, you can reset the password by going to Settings > VNC Password.

If you get displayed with a lock screen and need to login, your password is your VPS password. If you can't find this password, it can be reset on the VPS dashboard - Settings > Change Password.

If you get displayed with a screen where you need to do CRTL+ALT+DEL to continue

Yup, we've flipped about this several times when we didn't know how.

Using VNC Viewer

Thankfully, VNC Viewer makes this really easy. Move your cursor slowly up to the centre of the top of the window (make sure its not full screen and just windowed).

A small tiny utilities bar will popup, and you'll be able to 'Send Crtl+Alt+Del' to your server to continue. Easy peasy.

Using the website VNC viewer

It's just as easy. Click the small arrow on the left hand side of the screen to expand the utilities bar.
